The Norwegian research school in neuroscience (NRSN)

NRSN summer school Molecular genetic tools for the study of neural circuits (11-18 August 2019)

This summer school will highlight the most cutting-edge molecular genetic techniques used today. Experts and inventors will provide background information on each technique and then share exciting new data from their research groups to demonstrate the technique’s power. We will show the application of these tools in a wide range of model organisms from fruit fly to rodents to primates. We will also engage in group discussions about the advantages and disadvantages of each technique, and how to combine them effectively to address your specific research question.

NRSN summer school Understanding the behaviour in animal models (2-6 September 2019)

The aim of the summer school is to learn more about the wide range of animal tests that exists for studying different neurological processes. What type of models are available and what do they study? How do you select the appropriate animal model for your research? But more importantly, what is it that we actually study? What behavior do our animal models really show, and how should we interpret them? Which factors are important to keep in mind to create the best optimal conditions to study the behavioral mechanisms we are really interested in?
