1. Surface technologies

Illumina technology requires in situ PCR in order to create DNA-nanoclones on a glass surface. It is illustrated in the following video:

2. bead technologies

Roche 454 technology, which uses emulsion PCR amplification on beads followed by  Pyrosequencing  (see below) is available on this site:

3. Other technologies

Ion Torrent, is based on a H+ sensor (H+ is released at each poymerization step) does not require fluorochromes and optical systems. .

Emulsion PCR is on microbeads is required.
